The Benefits of Cuddle Therapy

Today, I’d like to share a little about the benefits of Cuddle Therapy and why it might be something worth exploring.

Cuddle Therapy is a structured, platonic touch service, which means it is completely non-sexual and non-romantic. It involves safe, consensual physical contact, such as cuddling, hugging, or holding hands, between a trained professional and a client.

The aim of Cuddle Therapy is to help reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness. Physical touch can lower cortisol (the stress hormone), while also encouraging the release of oxytocin, often known as the “love hormone,” along with serotonin and dopamine. These can help improve mood, reduce fear, and create a sense of calm, connection, and safety.

Cuddling can also support physical well-being by helping to lower blood pressure, improve sleep quality, support the immune system, and even assist with pain management.

Cuddle Therapy can be beneficial for many people, whether you’re going through a difficult time or simply feel the need for more connection and support. At the same time, it’s important to remember that it is not a substitute for medical or professional treatment. It can, however, be a really supportive addition or a gentle starting point on a healing journey.

Warm hugs
